Objectives :

The program provides high-standard scientific training in macroeconomics, finance, governance and banking. Emphasis is laid on the mastery of techniques and concepts needed for the understanding of the most recent scientific productions in those fields. The stress put on the links between theoretical approaches and the ability to analyze practical economic or financial issues is probably the main feature of the program. Therefore graduate students from the master have the possibility to choose between academic carriers and professional positions depending on job opportunities.

Team :

Our teaching team is composed of specialists in macroeconomics, banking and finance from supporting universities or associated reasearch centers, with scientific publications in frontier journals like Journal of Monetary Economics, Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Journal of International Money and Finance, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Quantitative Finance.

Organization :

The program is organized around a block of common courses (econometrics, financial theory, financial systems) and one out of two options : macroeconomics or finance. Student take common and optional courses from October to February, and write their research dissertation from February to the end of August. A defense of their dissertation is organized in early September. Alternatively or jointly, students can choose to seek for internship opportunities for a period of 6 full months.

Admission :

Applicants should hold a Master 1 degree in Economics, Management, Science… or an equivalent diploma at French baccalauréat + 4 years level (including French “Grandes Ecoles” diploma). Selection rules : by written application and interview.

Dissertation or internship (30 ECTS)

After the period of courses, students write a scientific dissertation under the supervision of a researcher of our team, or build their professional experience with a 6 months internship within a financial institution (bank, public administration, international organization...). In each case, they produce a memoir that is defended in ealry September.
